You have probably heard that the body keeps the score — that it holds what we live through, especially what we could not fully process at the time. Trauma, stress, grief, the unspoken and the unfelt, stored in the tissue and the nervous system, waiting.
This is true. But it is only half of what is true, and the half we hear less often is the more important one.
The body knew before the mind
In my own life, my body has told me the truth long before my mind was willing to hear it. It has held what I could not yet face, carried me through what I could not yet feel, and then — when it was finally safe — it began to release what it had been holding, in its own sequence and on its own clock.
I did not heal that through insight. I healed it through the body. Because the body was where it lived, and the body was the only door that opened.
Why the work begins here
This is why my work begins in the body and not in the mind. Not because thinking does not matter, but because the body is where the truth is actually stored — and where it can finally be set down.
Your body has been keeping faithful record of everything you have lived. It is not your enemy, and it is not broken. It is waiting — wise, patient, and holding the key — for you to be safe enough, and witnessed enough, to listen.
